Tour de Cure – (Cancer Research)

A huge thank you to all who supported this charity event!

The event raised over $1.7m for cancer research and to support those living with cancer in smaller communities.

We’ve had eight wonderful days travelling 1100km from Geelong to Canberra via Ballarat, Bendigo, Wangaratta, Wagga, Young, Goulburn and Albury.

The Albury loop was the highlight with a trip around Lake Hume – an out and back to Albury. (135kms, 1650m ascent)

We tracked around Lake Hume (dammed in the 1930’s) with the remains of trees still reaching out like giant skeletal hands from the cold water. Combine this with the backdrop of rolling fields and mountains and you have a constant barrage of postcard moments.

Other highlights include a “hot lap” around Winton racetrack on the bikes, a quick stop at a Rutherglen winery and the finale at Duntroon house and officers college in Canberra.
