The Longest Day (Cancer Council Golf)
On Monday 14 December, Raffi Pailagian, Managing Partner of Manly Financial Services and Financial Planner, along with 35 other players from Pymble Golf Club (PGC) took on the challenge of The Longest Day, which was 72 holes of golf in one day to raise money for Cancer Council.
The day started at 5am with a couple of pre-round coffees, before heading out in the rain at 5:30am. Luckily the rain had subsided after the 1st hole! Most groups had completed over 36 holes by 11am, which allowed them extra recovery before the afternoon session.
Just to give you an idea of what the team achieved, they:
- Walked more than 37 kilometres
- Clocked up more than 50,000 steps
- Climbed approx. 730 metres (220 stories) throughout the day
The most exciting part of the day was the funds the team raised for Cancer Council. With thanks to the amazing help received from the members and PGC community, including sponsorships by Manly Financial Services and Value Investment Partners, the fundraising efforts reached $55,577, making the PGC team the highest fundraising club in Australia.
On behalf of the Longest Day team for 2020, we thank everyone for their support for such a great cause.
